All of our guides are NOLS Wilderness First Responder certified, along with training in CPR and first aid. Focus on your adventure and let us sweat the details.
Your adventure begins in Arusha.
Located at the foot of the world famous Mt. Kilimanjaro, Arusha is a mid-sized city known for it’s low-key atmosphere and overall cleanliness. While the main attraction is Africa’s tallest mountain, your time in Arusha will include one of a kind volunteering opportunities that will bring you closer to the locals and make you feel like a part of this wonderful city, its culture and its people.
The Magnificent Mt. Kilimanjaro
Our hike will be on the Machame trail on Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Tanzania and Africa. It lies within the 756 square km Kilimanjaro National Park, one of the few places on earth that encompasses every ecological life zone—tropical jungle, savannah, desert, montane forests, and alpine zone. Get ready to see one of the most magnificent views of the Milky Way you’ve ever seen. The view alone is worth the trip!
The climb itself is steady rather than exhaustive, but challenging nonetheless. As you ascend, you’ll literally walk through every ecological life zone possible making you feel like you’re in a completely different place from one day to the next.
